You’ve heard of the Tour de France, but you don’t have to be a professional cyclist to get in on the cycling action during one of the most inspiring upcoming Atlanta events! Help raise funds for breast cancer and bike around Atlanta’s beautiful suburbs during the Tour de Pink, taking place on Saturday, September 28. Organized by the Young Survival Coalition, the Tour de Pink is Atlanta’s only bike ride for breast cancer. Participants will enjoy the opportunity to ride from 1 to 100 miles on a course that is modeled after the major international racing tours without the stress of competition. The event begins and ends at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park in Alpharetta. Depending on the route you choose, your ride will wind through the scenic streets and neighborhoods of North Atlanta passing by many Atlanta attractions and moving north toward Lake Lanier.
Last year’s event saw 800 registered riders, walkers, runners and families and raised almost $250,000 for local programs. Ride by yourself or create and team – the goal is the same: raise funds for young women battling breast cancer. Don’t ride? Don’t worry! Runners and walkers are encouraged to show their support on the 5k course. Young Survival Coalition (YSC) is the premier global organization dedicated to the critical issues unique to young women diagnosed with breast cancer. YSC offers resources, connections and outreach so women feel supported, empowered and hopeful. And by participating in the Tour de Pink, you can help support this fantastic cause. Add this to your Atlanta happenings and register by choosing one of several rides listed here. For more information, please visit YSCTourDePink.com.
